Beautiful New Orleans Wedding at The Chicory with Abby & Josh

The Chicory was the ideal venue for this gorgeous wedding. It can be accessorized to fit anything and every little detail; the flowers, the ketubah, the chuppa, even the cakes were pieces of artwork that brought everything together. All of this created a beautiful backdrop for Abby and Josh’s special day. They even had a custom corn hole set made by a bridesmaid and her dad, and Abby’s brother made a special appearance with the band. The couple was surrounded by so much love, you could feel it everywhere. It was hard not to want to just dance or sing (or play corn hole) all night long.

New Orleans Destination Wedding at Brennan's - Kelsey & Justin

One of the most enticing things about New Orleans is it’s charm, but the one thing nobody really tells you about, is what that charm actually is.

Some folks believe it’s the old world architecture, the food, and the sort of laissez faire attitude that us residents tend to live by. Those things are all charming, and they definitely are part of the makeup of New Orleans, but what that charm actually is, is it’s people. The way our city bands together in times of happiness and strife, the way it’s people make you feel at home by inviting you in and making you feel like you belong, like you’re just part of the family.

It’s the welcoming arms of the city and it’s unbeatable food that brought Kelsey and Justin back down to New Orleans with their all of the closest friends and family in tow for an all out beautiful celebration deep in the heart of New Orleans. They fell in love with how the city embraced them and made them feel welcome. Their guests felt the same and everyone threw care into the wind and had a long, fun night of dancing and celebrating the love between these two. We love when people love New Orleans.

An Intimate New Orleans Wedding at Bevolo - Alayna & Justin

Our awesome clients Alayna and Justin got married at the Bevolo Gas and Electric Lighting Museum in the French Quarter. It was a smaller, more intimate affair which is always a treat because the pace is a little more casual and relaxed, which really allows us time to focus in on all the feelings and emotions going around. They both began they day at the Ace Hotel downtown; the girls from PreauxFace putting the finishing touches on Alayna as we arrived. They met each other in front of the hotel for a emotional first look, where there were some definite tears, before heading into the French Quarter for beautiful intimate ceremony in the Bevolo Museum, in which only their closest friends and family attended.

Intimate New Orleans Wedding at The Degas House - Heather & Eric

We don’t really love writing blogs, it’s kinda’ dreadful. We love sharing our work for everyone to see, but finding the right set of words that best describe how incredible one night was, especially when that one night is the night that two amazing people celebrated their love for one another, eludes us. We’re not great at it, we’re more of the kind of folks who say, “hey, let me show you” versus “hey, let me tell you.” That’s probably why we’re better photographers than we are writers. But we owe it to the world to share just a little sliver of how incredibly good the world can be when times seem rough or when life has you down.

And so we’ll do our best to tell you the story of how an engineer named Eric and a social worker named Heather came down from Chicago, friends and family in tow, to witness and celebrate their love between one another.

Their beautiful ceremony took place in the courtyard of The Degas House on a chilly New Orleans evening in November. There was happy tears, smiles, love and happiness, a gumbo of all the best emotions. And of course, nothing caps off an incredibly intimate and joyous ceremony like a second line. The Big Fun Brass Band led the way with Heather and Eric at the front of the parade that headed down Esplanade.

Anyways if you’ve kept reading we applaud you and we’ll stop trying to tell you about how awesome their wedding was and and we’ll just show you how incredible it all really was.

New Orleans Engagement - Anthony & Darius

Anthony and Darius frequently visited New Orleans while they dated, so it was cruicial that we decided to meet them in an area that they've spent far less time in, and admittedly us as well. We've always enjoyed afternoon strolls through the Marigny/Bywater, and Crescent Park seemed like the most obivious choice for a sunny summer afternoon engagement session. The breeze rolled off the Mississippi river providing us a much needed reprieve from the stiffling heat and humidity that is notorious for a New Orleans summer. As we talked and got to know their relationship better, the excitement for their wedding this fall grew even more. Here we have two amazing people bringing their families from all over the country to come celebrate their love together in our hometown, it's a welcoming treat to have the honor and privilege of being able to document their marriage to one another. We don't want to spoil all the details about it because we want it to be a surprise when we get share it with the world, but we can say it's going to be really freaking awesome. 

Algeirs Point Wedding - Josh & Julia

We love those weddings full of really great vibes and really good people. It's the kind of place when as soon as you get there you can feel the warmth, and you just smile. It's the kind of wedding we love to attend, it reminds us of all the great memories in life and where they all began on our journey together.  

Underneath the gorgeous oak tree at Compass Point Events, Josh and Julia celebrated their love to one another. It was perfect. They stood together under a beautiful handmade chuppah, hand in hand as their closest friends and family experienced it with them. 

It was an amazing celebration between two beautiful people and we are incredibly thankful to have been able to document it for them. Don't just take our word for it, check out their story below.

New Orleans Wedding - Jimmy & Adrienne

The best weddings, are the one's that really make you work for it. The type of wedding where everyone is an absolute mess of emotions, filled with the best people laughing, loving and crying their eyes out. It's freaking rad. It's what we live for.

Jimmy and Adrienne gave us that full experience when they got married back in November., and left us leaving with what Adrienne called it, a "healthy sweat", and some very awesome new friends.

Their emotion filled, love packed ceremony at Our Lady of the Rosary was incredible. Jimmy and Adrienne both had these amazingly awesome smiles throughout, and you could just tell that they were having the time of their lives. That raw excitement of just being present in the moment carried over ten fold when we made our way over to Pat O'Brien's on the River for one hell of a dance party. 

We had an incredible time, one that left us feeling crazy tired, sweaty and probably a little smelly, but we wouldn't trade that experience with them for the world.

New Orleans Botanical Garden Wedding - Corey & Sophie

These two were by far one of my favorite couples that I've had the pleasure to photograph. After photographing their engagement session on a whim, they decided to ditch the family friend who they had planned to have photograph their wedding and gave us the honor of doing so.

We were floored. These two are some of the nicest, down to earth people I've ever met, and their love for one another fills the air around them in the best of ways. 

Their wedding at the gorgeous New Orleans Botanical Gardens was full of love and smiles throughout the day. The weather was terrible earlier that day, but it's like the heaven's knew that these two were getting married and cleared out with a gorgeous sunset for these two love birds.

Lower Garden District Engagement - Jimmy & Adrienne

I met these two early last year at their friend's wedding I was photographing, when they reached out to me afterward for their wedding in November, I was stoked.

They were fun, easy going, and caring for one another, freaking perfect! 

We decided to meet at the Irish House on St. Charles in New Orleans to grab a drink before strolling around the Lower Garden District, just to get loose and have a little fun. Turns out it was closed for some maintenance on the streets, which totally ended up throwing me off.

So we decided to head out anyways, and come back later. Jimmy & Adrienne walked out to the park in the neighborhood and we hung out for a bit. The weather was perfect, not too hot, not too cold and not a damn cloud in the sky. You couldn't ask for better weather in the here in the South.

They capped the day off by making it back to the Irish House here in New Olreans, with a couple of irish coffees, which if you've never had one from the Irish House I highly recommend it. They are the best in the city, hands down!

Brian & Sarah - Henry Howard Hotel

Photographing elopements in New Orleans has quickly become one of the most satisfying things about being a photographer in New Orleans. Here we are getting the opportunity to capture an amazingly intimate story of two people who in most cases have traveled pretty far, just to join each other in marriage in our beautiful city. Like how dope is that?

Especially if the couple is a really rad set of people who hails all the way from Seattle. You know, like Brian and Sarah here.

I feel so privileged to have been able to photograph their story for them at the gorgeous Henry Howard Hotel that opened up earlier this year. The venue fit these two perfectly, with its brass instruments lining the walls and sleek decor. The perfect fit for an amazing couple who's hometown is super rich with music.

These two were some of the sweetest and kindest people I've ever had the pleasure of photographing, and it was an absolute honor to be able to tell their story of their journey from Seattle, WA down to New Orleans, LA.
